Special Open House at our New Location
Sunnymont and Westside coop nursery schools are merging in the Fall and moving to a new location, closeby. We'll be having a special Open House on Saturday, January 28 from 10am-noon. This event will include tours of the new campus, 15040 Union Ave, San Jose, CA 95124.

What's a Parent Participation Preschool and Co-op?
A Parent Participation Co-op is a school where children learn and grow alongside parents under the direction of dedicated, professional teachers. As a cooperative nursery school, Sunnyside is cared for by our families, who volunteer their time to run the school. From helping in the classroom once a week to making play-dough, parent participation forms strong community bonds and helps make tuition more affordable.
The concept of participation goes much farther than the mechanics of running our school, however. A school such as ours could not function without thoughtful consideration of each for the other. We help each other by switching work days with another parent, working out transportation problems, volunteering for necessary duties, and being considerate of others. The working together and the give-and-take is what most of us particularly enjoy in our school.The result is that Sunnyside is a vibrant and supportive community that extends beyond school functions. Sunnyside parents can rely on one another for everything from playdates to coffee shop recommendations to support in times of family crises.
Where is Sunnyside located?
Sunnyside is currently located at the Westside campus on Payne Avenue in West San Jose for the 2011-2012 and our families come from San Jose, Campbell, Santa Clara, Saratoga, Cupertino, and beyond.
In the fall of 2012, we'll be opening in our new home on Union Avenue just off Highway 85. We're excited to have found a long term home that offers us great spaces for both our big kids and toddlers. We'll be making some improvements to enlarge the yard and move a wall or two that will make it even better.
